My Project

Over the past few years my students have really gotten into the process of printmaking. We have experimented with marker transfers, foam printing plates, making our own rubber stamps and silkscreening. The printmaking process has been really empowering for my students because they are able to do much of the printing process on their own.

The unique design and thinness of the Lego dot pieces would allow us to do letterpress printing using our small printing press.

Letterpress printing is a technique of relief printing for producing many copies by repeated direct impression of an inked, raised surface against individual sheets of paper. My students will be able to create their own unique images using the Lego dot pieces and print multiple copies of them.
