Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My brilliant and talented dual language learners are located in the South of Texas where there are many families from Spanish speaking countries. You can find English resources anywhere and everywhere, however bilingual resources are very hard to find. Also, it's my second year teaching therefore I'm still building and collecting my classroom resources. But with your help on this project, I can create a classroom that is filled with books for my dual language learners.

Not only have I selected bilingual books that enrich my students’ first language, but bilingual books that also help develop their second language and can be used in all academic subjects!

This will allow my students to comprehend the story in their first language while also practicing their second language. Not only will your help on this project build my classroom resources with these wonderful books, but you'll also be providing other numerous benefits for my dual language students such as exposing them to different perspectives, gaining confidence in reading, enhancing their literacy skills and develop a love for reading.
