Help me give my students I need a portable, all-in-one device to help support my ninth-grade students more effectively through real-time feedback, translation, personalized instruction, and seamless communication.

My Project

I feel incredibly lucky to have my students. They are ninth graders who are just beginning their high school journey, and this transition is such a critical time for them. They're not only navigating new academic expectations but also figuring out how to fit in socially, build confidence, and find their place in a new environment.

I want to make this transition as seamless and supportive as possible.

Having a streamlined piece of technology like the Microsoft Surface Pro would allow me to do that without relying on my cellphone for translations or dragging around a bulky laptop, which doesn’t set the best example for them. With this device, I can be more present and flexible in how I support each student.

I would use it to translate conversations for English Language Learners, lead small group instruction, and conference with students individually at their desks or in a quieter space. I could screencast their work to the projector to celebrate achievements and model great thinking. I’d also be able to track their progress in real time, grade assignments on the spot, reach out to parents, and take meaningful notes during the day.

This one device would truly transform the way I connect with my students and help them grow. With this device, I’ll be so much more efficient and available to my students, able to meet their needs in the moment. Thank you for supporting our classroom. It means so much to all of us.
