My Students

I teach an amazing group of third graders in Los Angeles. My school is a higher poverty level school but there is no limit on learning with the right resources. We are a great multicultural family that loves to learn. Many of my students speak a language other than English at home. All students receive free breakfast, and over 35% receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students learn best when they are excited about the topic.

Our school specializes in integrating art and technology with our academic subjects.

My Project

We need seven Virtual Reality headsets, seven unlocked phones, and equipment storage boxes so that they can learn more in depth about the U.S. landmarks.Part of third grade Social Studies curriculum in California focuses on the natural and man made landmarks in the United States. Imagine experiencing our country's landmarks through the lens of Virtual Reality headsets! In addition to learning about landmarks, we will also be learning about rain forests and the importance of protecting them.

My students can delve into learning about key landmarks and various rain forests and will be able to write about them and educated their peers.

My third grade partner and I begin the school year teaching our students how important it is to protect the rain forests in the world. Besides learning about landmarks in the United States, this project will also help my students see the rain forest using Virtual Reality headsets. Imagine my students' excitement when they are transported to the rain forest. This enriching experience is something that will always stay with my students forever.

My students will not only read about landmarks and rain forests, but get to experience them with the Virtual Reality headsets! Your help donating to this project is appreciated and will touch many kid's lives in more ways then we can imagine!
