This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.

I teach 4 classes of 12 amazing students.

All of my students are English learners. Some of them have learning disabilities, others are emotionally disturbed, and others are speech and hearing impaired. Despite that, they are still eager to learn every day. They all have a think win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.

My Project

Chromebooks will richen our daily activity in my classroom, especially in math and science. Using the workshop model in math and science, students can use Chromebooks for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The Chromebooks allow me to learn with the kids, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that students don't have technology in the classroom. Right now, they are only able to learn from textbooks. My special education students need and deserve the same tools that other students have access to. By having Chromebooks, students will be able to focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
