This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I know and see the importance in assisting as well as guiding all my students in learning critical thinking skills which they need now and through out their educational journey as well as in their lives. I teach 22 eager to learn second graders in a high poverty Title 1 school in South Los Angeles. They are ready to explore their world and help each other learn as much as they can. They are curious about their surroundings and their world.

My Project

The majority of my students live in apartment complexes or in multi family home. My students’parents are supportive in their child’s education but lack the resources to help them at home in the way in which they would like to.

I have discovered that the majority of my students lack the technological resources to help with their education at home.

Our school is the only place in the community where they have access to any type of technology. As a result, many have difficulty completing projects. The three iPads will give my students the opportunity to have access to enrich their learning across the curriculum, including Science, Social Studies, Health and Art. My students will use the iPads to conduct research, share and publish their work. While conducting, sharing and publishing work, my students will become familiar in using technology and its different features.
