Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm a fourth grade teacher at an inner city school in ac ounty where students have limited resources and come from a low socio-economic background. The community is predominantly Hispanic and 100% of the students receive free or reduced lunch.

Our city was currently hit by Hurricane Harvey and we are in need of some amazing classroom resources to make our learning fun and innovative.

Despite the recent city devastation, my students come to school eager and ready to learn! They are such great kids and I want to make a difference in their lives by providing them with an education that will challenge and sharpen their knowledge and skills.

My Project

My students need six headphones for our computer workstation. Our classroom doesn't have any headphones and when students go to computer station they have to mute the computer and miss out on audio due to lack of headphones.

My students also need an iPad to use during technology center.

The iPad will be used for online math programs such as Moby Max and Imagine Math to practice their fluency facts and problem solving skills. They also need partition dividers for privacy during independent work or during testing. We need chart paper for group activities during problem-solving and file folders to better store their assignments.
