My Project

Helping students to understand why math and science do what they do is at the heart of my passion for teaching. Our science curriculum is full of ways to give my students the hands-on experiences they need to take that ownership of figuring out why things happen. Having the tools to help them find answers to their questions on their own is invaluable.

Students show their thinking a lot in math.

Being able to allow them to use manipulatives to explain their thinking to peers will help them to solidify their own learning and help others who may need help. I will also be able to help students grasp math concepts better while instructing in small groups with the requested manipulatives.
