Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All of our students want to learn how to read in English and exit ESOL. We are updating our classroom with modern technology to help students make their goals happen. We will be able to use binders to store their data, assignments, and goals so that they can access their own progress throughout the school year. Our students have created a bit of a competition when it comes to tests and assignments but are discouraged when losing their papers that prove their progress. They have been able to determine what is the lowest and highest scores on their WIDA ACCESS exams but would like a place to store it without it falling out and getting lost. The students also love to read out loud and check their pronunciation but realize that headphones are needed to avoid interference. Reading at grade level may result from improved pronunciation, increased drive, and increased confidence. These headphones will help by capturing close to exact mispronunciation and fluency overall. And let's not forget the most important thing, they will be learning at their pace and meeting their own individual goals.
