Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with 18 wonderful pre-kindergarteners in a Title I school. This school year, I have started attending Reggio Emilia professional development and I am learning a lot about how this approach benefits children’s development. Open-ended materials and experiences encourage problem solving and are child centered.

It is my goal to give my students the opportunity to create endless possibilities and invite creativity into their play with loose parts.

I plan to add these materials to my discovery center for the children to explore freely. I look forward to seeing my students involve themselves in concrete experiences. They will be able to use the materials that can be “moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in multiple ways.”
