My Students

WGS is located on the lost coast of California in an area that is so remote, California Highway 1 stops before you reach it. This beautiful community school exists because the residents wanted their children to go to school in the same community in which they lived. The parents came together to build the school using their own resources and skills. It is a magical, forested setting located on the side of a mountain where everyone is family. The students have attended school together their entire lives. They know and love each other as only a family can.

My Project

With theses MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Core and Expansion Sets, my students will learn how coding and Legos can create an awesome, engaging future career in fields that focus on STEM advancements. By providing my students with these types of opportunities, they will be better prepared for a future career in STEM fields.

These robotics kits will teach my students about how technology can be used in different careers, how awesome it is to engineer their own creations, and how much mathematics and technology are integrated.

They will build a robot out of the LEGOS kits and then learn how to write code to control their robots. My students understand that technology is a vital part of their futures and that their careers may lead them into STEM run fields of study. This opportunity will allow my students to learn what parts of technology truly interest them as well as better understand what it takes for inventors to provide all of the current technology we have at our finger tips.
