My Project

The library media center is a place to learn, explore, and create for our 4th and 5th graders. We welcome over 550 students to the library media center each week. Our school Students check out books every week and can use our ever expanding and extremely popular Makerspace.

Our Makerspace allows students to learn and thrive in a dynamic environment.

But it needs help in order to continue its growth. Students love to collaborate while building and creating. They learn and practice many important life skills by utilizing our Makerspace such as empathy, kindness, patience, critical thinking, communication, and more.

Adding two LEGO BricQ kits to our library media center's Makerspace will add learning opportunities for students. Learning through designing and creating helps build essential life skills for students at a young age. Many of our students are economically disadvantaged and do not have access to enough resources at home. Our English Language Learner population has grown exponentially as well. Providing adequate resources for our students is so important.
