Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like to make our student's first year of school a safe, fun and successful one. In Early Childhood Education students learn best through play and hands-on activities, these materials will help in setting up the classroom so that this happens. Having these items in the classroom will provide daily opportunities for students to explore, problem solve and build on their current knowledge. For example the bulletin board borders, file holders, poster and paper will help us set up our classroom so that children feel welcome and excited about coming to school. The dry erase boards, alphabet games, construction tools, sorting games, etc. will help students develop their fine-motor skills (muscles on the hand) while learning essential abilities such as sharing with others, letter recognition, number recognition and many more.

The multicultural dolls, puzzles, paper and pretend play figurine will help students develop awareness, compassion, tolerance and appreciation for the multi-faceted world around them.

The baby dolls, food baskets, cleaning set, ironing set will allow students to pretend play and take on roles which they might see at home while learning essential skills such as picking-up after themselves and taking care of others.
