My Students

The students in my class will have so much fun playing these games they will not even realize they are learning. My students need dominoes to use for patterning, counting, and addition. They need play dough for making spelling words and strengthening little fingers.

My students live in Moore, Oklahoma.

Our district was hit hard at the end of last school year by a tornado. The school that I teach at is a Title 1 School. This means that at least 50% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunches. These students often go home to empty houses due to parents being at work and do not always have someone to help them with school work. Making learning fun is very important with these students.

My Project

The games and activities will make learning fun for my young students. They are learning to read and count and need to be motivated in a positive way. These games will provide just that motivation. Many of my students begin 1st grade behind students that have more advantages than they have. If I am able to provide a fun, safe, and educational atmosphere for them it will follow them for years to come. If they feel successful, half the battle is done.

Making students love learning and coming to school when they are young is very important.

Adding games to our reading and math instruction will keep them excited and engaged. Help my students love learning by helping with this project.
