Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a first-grade classroom full of different types of learners! My hardworking students come from low-income households and qualify for free lunch. A few of my students have learning disabilities, and half of them are English Language Learners!

Because we are all different, we learn in different ways!

Having such a diverse group of kids makes teaching more challenging and rewarding at the same time. I find myself constantly searching for new fun ways to teach my students and make learning not only fun but engaging.

A classroom with different types of teaching materials would make learning fun and easier for all students in my class and for those learning remotely.

My Project

These materials will keep students and me safe in the classroom during this pandemic. The binders, cardstock (to make number cards and dot cards), sheet protectors, and dry erase markers are for my students to use during their time at home. These materials will allow the remote and blended students the ability to continue playing the math games taught in class and virtually at home with the materials needed right at their fingertips. They can also use the sheet protectors and dry erase markers as a makeshift dry erase board to use during all of their phonics lessons.
