Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials will provide a hands-on learning experience with counting numbers 1-20, identifying numbers, and forming letters. In a dual language classroom, students are learning in another language while also learning academic content.

Hands-on activities help support the learning that is taking place because now we activate another part of our brain to absorb all the content we're learning at the same time we absorb it in the second language we are learning.

The mini erasers will help with counting ("count 6 on a ten-frame") and the sand trays can help with using our fingers to draw out numbers and letters during different literacy and math centers. The play dough will help with forming letters and numbers as we also enhance our hands' gross motor skills.
