My Students

When COVID started, I was just over halfway through the first year of a career in teaching. Suddenly every student went from an in-person learning experience to an isolated learning environment where their social interaction existed virtually. Not only did this affect their growth socially but also their academics. The following year we returned to an in-person learning environment. Still, social distancing was critical to keeping classrooms open, and the freedom to interact with students was limited due to the need for contact tracing.

In this third year of COVID culture, my students are even more eager to learn and engage; however, their need for more diverse learning tools is growing.

My Project

This school year presents us with more challenges than ever before, and I am committed to helping students make the most of every moment while learning time in my classroom. I want to do everything I can to ensure my students have the differentiated learning experiences they need to succeed. However, as a third-year early childhood educator, my resources are limited.

By receiving this grant, I will increase the size and variety of my classroom library, have more options to utilize as student learning aids, and improve class organization.

These tools will increase differentiation and limit lost time in planning and implementation. These additions mean that each lesson can be more immersive in literacy and adapted for each student's individual needs and abilities.
