This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are four and five year old students eager and ready to learn, during our month of Earth day we decided to start gardening in our school. So far our students have been eager to learn about plants and all the bugs that live in our soil. Gardening provides a multisensory learning experience that engages children in observing, touching, smelling, and tasting various plants. It offers opportunities for inquiry-based learning as children explore concepts such as plant life cycles, soil science, and the importance of sunlight and water. As we continue to grow our garden we lack the necessary supplies such as shovels to dig and plant new seeds. The supplies I am requesting in this project will help students plant a new garden to attract pollinators, also the books will help students learn more about gardening and the joy it brings.Through gardening, children develop a deeper connection to the food they eat and gain an appreciation of our planet. Gardening promotes teamwork, cooperation, and communication as children collaborate to plant, water, weed, and harvest together. It also provides opportunities for self-expression and emotional regulation as children connect with nature and engage in reflective activities such as journaling or storytelling.
