My Students

Do you remember the first time you looked at information a different way? This is how my students are learning with the Common Core tasks this year. We are taking information and relating it to our lives and enriching our learning experiences.

I have 23 students in my classroom; fourteen of which are in the gifted education program.

With the implementation of the Common Core Standards, my students are learning more and more each year. I want to be able to provide as many reading materials as possible to enrich their educational experiences.

My Project

With the donation of these books, I will be able to take the Common Core standards and apply them to our 1st grade curriculum without having to search for books similar to the suggested ones. This will allow more time for activities in my classroom and enrich the experiences of my students. My students will learn how to relate the information in the books to the standards presented to them.

Funding for this project will ensure that my students get the necessary educational experiences that will build a lasting foundation for them in literacy.

These books will allow written projects to take place that the students will remember and add to in their additional years of school.
