Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students walk into my classroom full of energy and ready to learn. Many of my students have challenges that stand in the way, making learning harder for them. I teach first grade students who come from a low-income households.

My school is in an urban area with about 100% of our students receiving free lunch.

Many of the students speak English as a second language; therefore, I need hands-on, engaging ways to teach my students the curriculum. My students come into my classroom for help, sometimes feeling hopeful but other times feeling like failures. Each student has different academic needs, as well as different emotional needs.

My Project

I am requesting whiteboards, markers and storage crates. Our classroom is in need of materials for the students to engage in with one another to reinforce what they have learned.

Learning hands-on is an important part of first grade.

The writing materials will provide the needed practice and reinforcement of the skills and concepts through an exciting and memorable experience. My students will be able to extend their learning through these engaging materials with the help of your donation!

Please help our classroom gain whiteboards, markers, and storage to help us know to read and write!

These materials will help many students for years to come. You can always help make a difference in the life of a child!!
