My Students

Every morning we start the day reading a book. When you walk into my classroom, you will see students reading various books and articles. Alan Bennet stated, “A book is a device to ignite the imagination."

My students are motivated 1st-grade students looking for an opportunity to learn to become fluent in reading.

My school is a Title I school with an increasing number of students qualifying for free or reduced-rate lunch. My students are 1st graders who strive to be the best in all academic areas. Because of their diverse ways of learning, it is essential to have various teaching tools to ignite curiosity and help develop a love and passion for reading.

My students are eager learners and deserve the opportunity to prepare themselves for the future by exposing them to books and reading materials to increase their reading and comprehension skills.

If funded, you will be helping students increase reading and develop their comprehension skills.

My Project

This collection of books and reading material will inspire my students to develop a love for reading.

Students will be able to choose books or use reading materials that will help them become fluent readers and develop their comprehension skills.

Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in their reading skills and strategies. Many of my students do not have independent reading books at home. My goal is to build a library they feel comfortable borrowing from to continue their love of reading outside of class time.

My students love reading independently and this collection will help develop their passion to become lifelong readers!
