Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach special needs students across elementary grades. These students require multiple modalities to learn how to read. It is often difficult to find appropriate modifications to teach my students how to read due to the fact that their needs and skills are so varied. Reading is even more challenging for my students with Dyslexia.

My students need to to be able to engage in literacy in multiple ways.

Access to visual aids, technology and subscriptions can be pricey; however, incorporating the resources that can be tailored to their individual needs (Teachers Pay Teachers resources, reader pen, finger focus highlighter, etc.) would be priceless.

My students would benefit greatly. It would strengthen the home school connection. Also, I can access lessons and activities that can really help me to scaffold for my special needs students.
