My Students

I am teaching an amazing group of special education and general education (ICT), third grader in a New York City DOE school.

My students are curious explorers who want to see the world, they have a million questions, and learn a great deal from one another.

Most of my students have not been in a school setting in nearly 18 months! The last time they were in the building they were 2nd graders, now they're 4th graders!

To bring them back into the physical school setting we want to bring them into an inviting, bright, and happy classroom that has more hands-on material to close learning gaps.

My Project

With the students remote for over 18 months, we are starting fresh and learning to learn again. I am requesting a giant timer to help all my students stay on task with a visual cue. When they were last here they were in 2nd grade, but now in 4th grade they transition from class to class, and a timer is essential to keep them on task.

Although technology is important, so is their writing!

While working in school groups one way to keep their work organized is the use of labeled folders such as the writing process ones here. Being organized is keep for their success today and in the future.

I am also requested teacher graphic organizers to help students in small groups get the small group modeling needed to close any learning gaps or summer lost.
