This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a charter as a special education teacher for the grades Prek- 2nd. All of my students are very loving children. They are learning how to self-regulate their emotions and learn life skills. As a special education teacher, I work with a variety of children who have Autism, Developmental Delay, and Down Syndrome. This project is to help give my students tools to help them learn how to regulate their emotions and be successful with life skills.

Meeting the individual needs of each student is my goal.

Each of my students has sensory needs that need to be met in order to help them better focus in class. It could be from needing pressure from the weighted stuffed dog, or to fidget toys they use to manipulate with their hands. Being able to teach them these skills now, will better help them for the future.
