Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we progress through our physical science units, I carefully plan a variety of labs that give students hands-on experiences to make science both memorable and fun. One recent example is our egg drop activity, where students tested their designs using micro:bits before the actual drop. They learned to code the micro:bit to measure the acceleration of their parachute and cage designs, gaining valuable insights into both physics and programming.

Coding empowers students to simulate experiments, model complex systems, and analyze data with greater efficiency, enhancing their understanding of key topics such as motion, energy, and forces.

My goal is to obtain a class set of micro:bits, allowing us to continue incorporating coding into our daily labs and activities. By integrating these devices, students will not only engage more deeply with scientific concepts but also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. This approach not only makes science more interactive but also prepares students with essential skills for future STEM careers.
