Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is made up of 26 low-income students, 12 girls and 14 boys. I have 8 English language learners who need total physical response and other visual, and or auditory scaffolds to increase their English language development. The rest of my students are reclassified English learners. As a 1 to 1 iPad school, the students have become literate in utilizing multiple applications like iMovie, and Keynote. They are enthusiastic and highly motivated by technology, which is enhancing their learning tremendously.

My Project

As low income students my students have not visited many local historical sites. During distance learning I have provided students with virtual field trips to Machu Pichu, Yosemite and Mayan Pyramids. The students are enthusiastic and enjoy the 360 views and VR experiences. However, the virtual field trips available are limited.

Help me give my students the opportunity to view places through 360 videos and photographs taken by a Go Pro Max camera.

I would be able to visit local historical sites and document my experiences in order to share them with my students consistently. This will enhance my ability to scaffold history for my students and the students' exposure to historical sites.
