My Students

My students live in a low socioeconomic community. Most of them receive free or reduced-price lunch based on their financial status. My students attend a Title I school in Miami, FL. They also have little support from home. Many of them are being raised in single parent households. These students are in great need of technology equipment and school supplies.

I teach in a high poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, they always walk into the classroom every day full of life, excited and ready to learn new skills. I am looking forward to providing them a new taste of a learning experience that can help them explore new ideas and improve their academic performance. In addition, they are very creative, clever and very punctual when it comes to learning new ideas in school. They like to move, read stories and need lots of positive attention. I am a teacher who always believes that every student can achieve something positive in their lives, regardless of their ethnic and socioeconomic background.

My Project

The majority of my students do not have access to a computer at home and the school has limited access to technology. We need a laptop, headphones, pencil, markers, glue, highlighters, and pens. These materials and the laptop will be used to enhance math and reading skills. In addition, the headphones will be used to listen to sound while doing math and reading-Ready. Also, the pencils, markers, and highlighters will be used for students to write during differentiated instruction. With these materials, my students will be able to explore and discover different tools that can be used to enhance their ability to learn and achieve great success while learning is taking place.

I strongly believe that my students will be so excited to see that learning can happen if they have the appropriate resources to start the school year.

With your generous help, my students can start the school year with the resources necessary to complete their work and have access to the use of technology in the classroom. These remarkable children are in need of a champion that can help them reach their full potential in life. I think that champion is someone like you that believe in making a difference in the lives of my students through your generous donation.
