My Students

My students come to school eager to learn and excel in school. In addition, I teach in a Title I school Community where about half of the student population lives at or under the poverty line. While my students come from all ethnic and racial backgrounds, many have an IEP. In another word, they each have a disability that can interfere with their ability to learn in school.

My students are knowledge hungry and outside the box thinkers who love to use technology to investigate academic concepts and participate in diverse project based learning activities.

My Project

In order for students with disabilities to grow into becoming self regulated learners in society, they will need to learn how to use technology to their advantages.

For example, our students are in the process of using the Minecraft platform to create a museum tour describing the living environment of the Inuit People of North America.

With the use of multiple tech platforms available to them, Disabled Students can learn to brainstorm, plan, draft, edit and publish assignments and projects that would`ve been very difficult to tackle under normal circumstances.
