Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us learn in a technology age. My students do not have access to computers that work. I want to teach them through media how to conduct research on various topics, but we need a computer.

My student population is composed of mostly immigrant children who are being educated in a dual language program.

We are a Title I school delivering free and reduced meals to over 90% of the student population in our nation's capitol. When polled, only one of my forty students said they had access to a computer and the Internet at home.

My Project

The netbook will be used for topic research and centers for science, writing, reading and social studies. It will allow my students to seek information from other sources besides the school textbooks. I would like to expand their knowledge of science through educational sites.

My students will be exposed to skills needed to succeed in today's technology age.

They not only will learn research skills, but they will also be exposed to information that is outside of our school walls.
