Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a kindergarten teacher for students who are new to the country. All of my students are immigrants and refugees and it is my job to teach them kindergarten content, while also making sure they learn English and how to be in American schooling.

Learning is way more fun when a student is engaged in something they like to do.

I am wanting to provide my students with play dough, play dough toys, and magnatiles so they can learn through play. Students will be able to learn valuable skills through sharing, playing hands on, and their social and emotional skills will also be able to develop properly while using these materials.

The play dough, toys, and magnatiles will be used each day during centers and free choice to create their names, work on colors, work on their English, and much more. The pencil pouches will be used for new students who do not have a pouch as I can get new students weekly. These pouches will be durable and used for their school money and writing materials.
