Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten and first-grade students are motivated and eager to learn. However, my diverse students require differentiated work to make progress and understand the content.

My English language learners have vastly different English proficiency levels.

Some students have disabilities that impede their learning experience or are disadvantaged by their family circumstances. My students come from low-income households with limited materials at home, especially those who recently arrived in this country. I use various modalities and interactive activities to support them and work around these factors.

As an ENL teacher, I could use all of the resources possible to help them become better readers, writers, listeners, and speakers and support them in their journey.

My Project

My students love hands-on activities, and learning through play helps them have a better language learning experience. Due to the pandemic, most of my students are performing below grade level and have not experienced learning through play. In addition, learning a new language can be overwhelming, and these educational games provide colorful visuals and motivate students to learn words without realizing they are learning. These literacy educational games will help them master letter recognition and sight word knowledge, build their reading skills, and enrich students’ interaction with words and literacy.

Learning through play allows students to learn differently, target various learning styles, and spark students’ interests.

The benefits of educational games are developing language and social skills, and students will transfer information to understand academic concepts better. My kindergartens, first graders, and I will greatly appreciate your support.
