My Students

Have you ever had 18 people give everything they have to give, day in and day out? Have you felt the unconditional love 18 students give towards their teacher and peers and have a love of learning and want to academically do their best each and every day?

Welcome to my amazing classroom, located in the inner city of Buffalo.

We are part of Buffalo Public Schools and our school has a large percentage of students from low-income homes. We have the second-largest percentage of English as a new language learner in the district. As their teacher, I need to go above and beyond to give all my students hands-on, engaging, exciting resources so they can academically strive!

DonorsChoose helps make academics easier with educational materials that will give my students more resources for learning. I am thankful for this program, and the smiles it will give my students daily!

My Project

To the untrained eye, it may seem like my students are just playing when they’re in the Dramatic Play Area, but as their teacher, I know they are learning new things each time they chose that center to play.

The Dramatic Play Center can be filled with many opportunities for both learning and fun.

These new materials will allow for rich and meaningful play experiences for my little learners. Dramatic Play promotes the development of higher-level thinking skills, problem solving, and oral language development. My kiddos will be able to engage in pretend play and develop critical skills across all learning domains such as language and literacy, math, science, social studies, fine and gross motor, and even social skills!
