I have a group of wonderful and curious Kindergarteners who come from diverse backgrounds. These young scholars love to learn through different modalities using their hands and through movement. Some are learning to count, read, blend, and write. Our class loves to sing songs, play outdoors, and work on STEM challenges.
We have been building a classroom community of scholars who love to learn and explore!
Our magnet class also focuses on Urban Environmental Sciences, where students dive into the workings of the real world around them and become problem solvers. We cannot wait to become lifelong learners who make a real impact on the world!
My Project
Our Kindergarten class is comprised of young students between the ages of 5-6. As a child, we loved to play pretend-we were veterinarians, chefs, and many more. Pretend play helps young learners engage in meaningful and fun learning. Therefore items like Playdoh, dramatic play sets, and STEM tools were requested to develop social skills, social studies, language skills, fine motor skills, and science skills.
Learning through play is engaging, meaningful, and essential to young kids.
It is a natural way for us to learn. Therefore, our students will be given time at the end of each day for imaginative play time.
