My Students

My students receive free hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Many of my students are English Language Learners. They come from households where English is a second language. At home, the English language is rarely spoken, making it challenging for my students to learn and practice the English language. My classroom also services students with disabilities such as children with autism, ADHD, and speech or language impairments. A classroom is a place for these children to feel safe and accepted.

That is my mission every day as a special education teacher.

My Project

Young students learn best through hands on learning. When they are able to feel, touch, and maneuver objects, it enhances their kinesthetic learning. Young learners benefit from colorful, appropriate sized objects to help keep them engaged and to help develop fine and gross motor skills.

With the addition of the requested items, my students will be able to explore learning through a different lens.

They will see learning as fun and it will give them the chance to use their imagination and enhance their cognitive skills. The alphabet sorters and alligators will help students identify their upper and lower case letters.
