My Students

Every morning when my students enter the classroom they are ready and eager to learn. Our school is a very diverse setting where all students are welcome and loved. My classroom alone is full of students from over five countries. Many of whom are first-generation Americans. My students have to translate their homework to their parents, meet the social and cultural expectations at home and at school, and still find time to give me a hard time when I make a spelling mistake on a presentation. These kids are incredible. After taking an overnight camping trip with them earlier this year, I can honestly say I am truly excited for the future of the world. With these students leading us, it is going to be more innovative, full of kindness, and safer than ever before.

These 5th-grade students are creative, hardworking, and have a strong desire to learn.

They have a lot of passion: trying new things in and out of the classroom, constant movement, collaborating, and making the world a better place!

My Project

This project will allow my students two different opportunities in the classroom. We are a flexible seating classroom - during a non-COVID school year, therefore students do not have their own desk/personal space. The shelving unit will allow students to use baskets to store their belongings. This allows for the students to learn responsibility and the act of being organized.

The project will also allow for creativity to grow in our classroom.

The Apple Pencil will allow for students to build on a previous project that we have that involved the Cricut Maker. Students will be able to use creative apps on our classroom Ipads to bring their ideas to life!
