My Students

My students are ready and eager to learn. We are a Title I school with 100% free and reduced price lunch. Our students come from a rural community with parents who want them to succeed and the best for them in life. My students are in first grade.

We enjoy learning in a nontraditional environment and using technology to explore the world around us.

My students are excited and love the opportunity to explore the world around them. They have been learning to work collaboratively and how to find solutions to real-world problems.

My Project

My students need to be exposed to reading texts at their levels. Many of my students do not have as many life experiences or background knowledge to always understand what they are reading. They can read, but they have a difficult time understanding what they read. By exposing them to different stories and vocabulary, they will increase comprehension.

Learning A-Z offers printable books that will increase my student's vocabulary and comprehension.

This project is for the subscription to the full library of decodable and non fiction readers. These books are high interest.

If funded, I will use this subscription to access and print books to increase our classroom library. Students will read these books with me in small group and parents will be invited to check them out to practice at home as well.
