This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diligent, hardworking, and deeply motivated to succeed academically. However, no matter how dedicated my students are, they cannot do it alone. Students only have the tools and resources their school and their teacher can provide them with. They have the basics they need to learn in my science classes, but there's a whole world of different technologies out there which I know would so enrich their learning experiences. My students yearn for more than just textbooks and worksheets.

My students deserve a chance to interact with their science lessons in the most vibrant, comprehensive, and technologically-modern way possible.

They crave a Science Classroom filled with resources, adventure, and exploration!

My Project

The materials in this project will help to create a technology-heavy, innovative Makerspace for my students! This Makerspace will include drawing tablets to allow students to build digital representations of different scientific concepts using modelling and drawing software. These representations can then be brought to life through the project's 3D printers and laser engravers! Using this equipment, students would now be able to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of different scientific concepts, ideas, and topics through artistic expression and modelling, all while practicing the 21st century skills of digital design, 3D printing, and object engraving!

In short, giving my students access to this modern technology in the classroom will revolutionize the way they learn science and allow them to engage with their curriculum in novel and exciting ways!
