This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am an elementary special education teacher who teaches a bright, vivacious group of students who are thrilled to learn. My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds and I teach a multicultural group of students. Our school will pilot a new math program, Illustrative Mathematics, this fall. This program allows students to explore using hands-on materials and formulate deep discussions as to what they are learning. This manipulative kit will support my students' learning that correlates to the lessons within the unit of study. This kit comes with manipulatives my students need to help solve and understand mathematical concepts and equations. Help us learn through exploration!
