My Project
This project will give my students activities that will be used as centers during our math and science learning. My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds from all over the world. Some are brand new to our country experiencing school for the first time. They have a love for learning and will enjoy being an active participant in our classroom with these hands on activities.
These activities will encourage students, no matter their background or language, to learn, discover and explore math and science concepts through play.
They also promote collaboration, communication and creativity. MagnaTiles, Marble Runs and Lego blocks offer students open-ended platforms to build structures on their own ideas and designs. Students will express creativity by experimenting with different patterns and shapes. The puzzles in this project will provide students extend thinking skills such as remembering, matching, sorting, recognizing and problem-solving. All of these skills will support students in building positive relationships with their peers, help them to cope with stress, and succeed academically and in life.
