Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

An inclusive ELL classroom does not become inclusive unless we as teacher equip every student with what they need to support their learning. As a teacher with migrant students from different countries we understand that adapting to a new life comes with many changes. Just like us adult, (with a coffee or a smoothie) students need a soft start to their day and these tactile bin will help do just that!

With these selected materials our classroom with have different methods of students gaining sensory input and a calm soft start to their day.

Many of our student migrated from different countries and are now adapting to a new was of life we hope to make our classroom a welcoming environment for them. A calming soft start to a students day has been proven to better assist in students learning and academic success.

Every child is different and these tactile materials for our classroom will highlight just that! Students will see learning through a different lens and aid in their peers learning by taking partner or group breaks throughout the day including several different tactile tub supplies. By working collaboratively in groups our students will begin to make friendships and bond with their classmates.

Compassion and understanding others needs is at the core of the success of every students academic learning. Students understanding will be measured by completing an exit ticket at the end of each week reflecting on how their pair or group breaks helped them or their peers.
