My Students

There are many challenges my students have to face. Math and reading can be fun but also can be a challenge for some. These games and manipulatives will help the students with these challenges by learning new strategies Even though they are playing, they are still learning many skills.

I have 23 outgoing, enthusiastic, hard-working young students who love to learn.

They love challenge, enjoy working together, encourage each other, and are very helpful towards each other. They are from different nationalities around the world. they speak in different languages and come from many municipalities. We are a high poverty school and are always eager to learn from day to day.

My Project

I have chosen a selection of games and materials and different center activities that are based on Math and Reading/ Language Arts Common Core State Standards. Mathematical tools and games can help children who face challenges in math. Games can help them see the steps and explain it more in details. This will help me make fun for all of my students. The games and materials we have do not meet these CCSS. These items will supply them with the appropriate materials needed to meet these standards. It will help them improve on state assessments in 1st grade and in future years They need math hands-on materials to help them model/show the problem by using these manipulatives The math and language arts games will boost mathematical skills and comprehension skills with high-interest activities that encourage students to meet the CCSS.

My students need these math, reading and language materials to help improve their reading, language arts, and math skills to help meet the Common Core State Standards.

These activities and games will be an access to all the students. This project will help current students, as well as, future students. As we play these games, it will provide us with a fun way to become better readers and mathematicians.
