Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is an old bungalow so I am looking to create a welcoming learning space for my incoming second graders. The classroom floor is dreary and dull. A new colorful rug will brighten up the space and offer seating for rug time activities. Flex space cushions will be a fun cozy addition to our classroom library and a flexible seating option.

Providing students with a comfortable environment and quality supplies will support their learning.

These cushions and rug will help engage our students in their new learning environment. For example, during our lessons on money, I can have students sit in groups to learn about different coins and dollar bills. I will be able to differentiate with small group instructions in different parts of the classroom. The most important benefit of flexible seating is that it maximizes the students' learning experience.
