Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My name is Mrs. C, 3rd grade teacher Title I school.

This greenhouse project will help my students to learn how to grow fruits and veggies that will be sold to the cafeteria of the school and local community.

Academically students will have access to a living classroom garden year-round and teachers can fully integrate hands-on learning in the greenhouse, and take advantage of alternative learning opportunities creating a green image for the campus.

This project is be a great way for students to take initiative, get involved, and share their stories with others and their parents. Students will help to solve some of the immediate needs in their own household helping parents to reduce cost because they will grow their own food.

Also students will learn basic concepts of economy because they will learn how to reinvest money, satisfy healthy needs and balance their resource properly.

This greenhouse project will impact the entire local community. Some of the vegetables we will produce can be sold to our own school community. On the other hand this is the beginning of their future. It will make an influence in their career they will become agricultural engineers, farmers and investors in our local community being part of the solution.
