This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 1st-grade special and general education. My classroom is always full of love, learning, and laughter! The students always love to play, learn and care for one another. They love coming to school every single day. However, with the location of the school, the students face many adverse situations every single day. Most of the students live in shelters, foster homes, and city housing projects. Some of the students come into a class upset in the mornings because they didn’t get to eat, or their clothes don’t fit, or they simply don’t have a pencil.

However, with all those adversities, these amazing students come in with loving arms, eager to take over the world with their love and knowledge.

My Project

While blended learning is about to start in September, many teachers are struggling with the idea of teaching 2 to 3 different groups. In my classroom, we are fortunate to have two teachers.

However, if one teacher is teaching the students in class, how will the second teacher teach the students at home, while being in the classroom?

I believe the classroom divider will help tremendously with keeping the classroom organized and quiet. I could teach the students from home with the dry erase divider, while the students in class could focus on the teacher in person. I believe it will make the classroom environment a better place for learning!!
