My Students
Do you remember singing your ABC's morning, noon and night? My kindergartener's sing it everyday and love it! Kindergarten is such a critical time for children because they learn all the foundations for success in school!! Learning the alphabet and letter sounds is one of the first steps!
In my kindergarten class, I have 28 beautiful 4-5 year olds.
They are bubbling with energy, questions and curiosity. Most of my students are English language learners and/or never attended school prior to kindergarten. At the beginning of the school year, learning our ABC's is one of the first things that we will do. Using hands-on manipulatives can really help children to solidify the letter sounds by having objects that all start with the same letter/sound to play with!
My Project
These super cute alphabet tubs would be so helpful to life in my kindergarten class. Children would use these alphabet tubs during word work time. Each day we will focus on a letter of the day, children will be able to explore the object in the tub of the particular letter of study. By using the objects it will help the letter ID as well as sound ID become more applicable AND it will provide wonderful vocabulary opportunities for my language learners!
My goal at the end of this school year is to have 28 strong readers and writers!
My children are ready to learn and these tools will be a wonderful way for us to start our letter exploration. These alphabet tubs will help the children effectively learn their letters and sounds in a fun, engaging way!
