My students are diverse in many aspects; each child brings their own prior experiences into the classroom and needs choices while we work.
My second-grade classroom is a place for students to feel welcome, safe, accepted, and comfortable.
Seven and eight-year-olds are full of curiosity, wonder, and excitement, and my job as their teacher is to provide them an environment where they can fulfill all of these qualities. Our school is located in a high-poverty area. We are close to the homeless shelter, and 100% of students utilize free and reduced-price lunches.
We have a high need for our students and need your help to make our school a better place.
My Project
Looking at the unknowns of this school year, virtual and distance learning, I want my students to always have access to supplies both at home and school. Students have been in and out of school but have not been able to take supplies back and forth to school. Having these caddies will help us separate supplies for individual students to they have supplies for learning no matter where they are learning, virtually or in the classroom. These will also help students learn organization skills and keep their supplies all in one spot.
