My Students

I teach in District 75 which is the most restricted environment in NYC for students with special needs. My students have severe disabilities requiring them to be in a restrictive environment. All of my students come from an economically disadvantaged background and receive free breakfast and lunch. The majority of my students do not have access to technology in their homes and very little is provided by school. I currently let students use my personal tablet and phone in order to access math applications.

My Project

I would like to integrate technology into the classroom in math, science, and reading. Fire Tablets in my classroom will help make the learning process interactive and be a great motivator to complete work. I teach my students to have patience and share, but having access to only one tablet limits the access they have to learning games.

Technology is everywhere!

It affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn! The Fire Tablets and the applications they support will engage my students in the learning process. Students, especially those with different learning styles, will be able to access information more easily.
