Learning Math Through Games In 1st Grade

Help me give my students access to math manipulatives every day. The manipualtives and storage bins are essential in order to have materials readily available to students in order to support and enrich their learning.

My Project

Every child need hands-on learning experiences to develop strong foundational math skills. They also need opportunities to interact with one another while investigating and sharing their ideas. However, in order to have manipulatives readily available, you need the manipulatives and an organizational system to do so.

Children excel in their learning when given opportunities to practice their skills through play and share their thinking with one another.

No matter where they are in their learning, engaging in meaningful play fosters positive social interactions through providing opportunities to collaborate, persevere, and problem-solve with their peers.

The math manipulatives will help provide support and enrichment opportunities for my students for years to come. Students need guidance and practice with manipualtives to build their number sense in a concrete way before they move on to truly understanding the abstract representation of a number.
