Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need an iPad to help them to learn math and reading with technology in the more meaningful way.

I am thankful to be the teacher of group of 35 energetic and enthusiastic first grades.

They come from a middle class neighborhood and are happy to be at school every day, learning and discovering new things. These kids are at the beginning of their careers. I am looking for funds to get tools for my classroom that help them to learn in the more meaningful way during the learning process. We would be very grateful if we could count on your generous donation to our project in order to improve our first graders classroom.

We are a Title I school, the vast majority of our student population come from a low socioeconomic background. Over 90% of our students receive free and reduced-price lunch. Additionally, 100% of my class consists of Dual Language Learners 50% Spanish and 50 % English.

As a teacher of this group of students, I feel that they need help in order to have success; my heart is to teach, give back, and serve the community in which I working in.

My Project

The psychological impact of Hurricane Harvey has been considerable on our students. That is the reason why teachers now, more than ever, need to provide them with materials and tools that make the learning process in the more meaningful way. With an iPad, my students can learn basic math and reading first graders skills such as counting, representing numbers, adding, or subtracting; vocabulary words, fiction and non-fiction e books, while they are having fun.

An iPad is the perfect tool for my students to learn math and reading skills and the more meaningful way during the learning process at the same time.

An iPad will allow my students to use technology to reinforce their daily math and reading skills, and they will be able to practice skills such as counting and number recognition everywhere, reading fiction and non-fiction e-books, for example during our restroom breaks or during recess. The iPad will provide my students several opportunities for them to keep on learning math and reading everywhere they go. Our technology is limited at our campus, and, therefore, an iPad will be extremely beneficial for the students. The iPad will offer several interactive math games and reading apps where my students can practice our daily math and reading objectives.
