My Students

My students are eager to learn, curious, and active! We are a neighborhood school, which many of my students have attended since Pre-K. Our parents and community are actively involved. However, many of my students face learning challenges and seek alternative ways to engage in instruction. Over 40% of my class is economically disadvantaged. It is my goal to provide my students with an environment that is comfortable, safe, and provides each student with the opportunity to reach their academic potential.

My Project

With the return to learning in the classroom on the horizon, I am seeking materials to engage my students and make them excited to enter the classroom once again! We need resource books to help with our vocabulary expansion, comprehension and writing practice. So much of our hands-on learning was missed during or virtual endeavor and my students are more than ready to ditch the computers and safely begin incorporating materials in a variety of formats. This project will provide our classroom with materials for improving vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. Students will have access to tools such as individual dry erase boards, resources posters to reference during instruction, and even charging units for their computers in hopes of making their transition back to the classroom exciting.
